Commando Strike - Special Forces attack a German Castle.

Dale was over for a game today and it was a blast, fast paced action with some great drama and finally an epic destruction of the castle!

First though, I want to show you the last of my painting for this week.

The Mayor (Burgomiester) and his wife, or a well to do couple - your choice.

A "lady" on a bicycle, but notice the item in the carrier - yes that is an automatic!

RAFM care with driver great for cruising the country.

German infantry guard - this guy is not really all that into his job,

An agent, or special agent or double agent!

Another agent!

This guy means business!

One of the nurses in the variety of hospitals you might find in the occult world!

Sweet looking nurse with an eye patch, you can just see the combat knife in her right hand as she beckons with the left.

British special forces move through the village towards the castle.
The people of the village were not fond of the Germans in the castle and recently some of their own had gone missing causing fear amongst the villagers!
The car and a cyclist moving through the village, notice the "German agent" at the back of the house - he would cause trouble it a bit.

The British moved through the village asking questions and finding two agents within the population. The Germans in the castle look comfortable enough though looking out over the surrounding area.
German guard and castle keep in the background.

Busy downtown!

Main German garrison.

German patrol drives past the burgomiester and his wife as they head to the near by hotel for a drink.

Another German patrol from the castle garrison.
As the patrols rolled out the Brits hid, but the German agent in the village played his card and attacked one of the British agents. Shooting his luger he managed to hit the Brit but not kill him, but in the ensuing hand to hand the British agent put paid his wound on the troublesome German.
Confusion erupts when the luger shots are heard by nearby German troops!

Part of the garrison reacts to the shots and moves by foot towards the village.
The patrols dismounted and moved towards the area the shots were fired. It seemed all was clear when a She wolf Gefreiter (lance corporal) spots one of the British commandos. In the ensuing melee the Brits killed all 3 Germans but two of their numbers sufferred wounds. But they managed to save the mission from being compromised!
You can just see the Brits behind the hedge and this was noticed by the She wolf. She didn't get to raise the alarm though as she was eventually swarmed by all four British commandos.

Part of the Patrol went back thinking all was well.
Once the patrol was taken out, the commandos moved on the castle, but it was a difficult proposition, because all angles of advance were marked. Eventually the sniper took out the gate sentry and the rest of the road side garrison fled in panic. This left a frontal assault on the castle gate an option.

In a running gunfight the Brits lost two commandos but destroyed the castle garrison and gained entry to the underground!
Brits move up the road to the castle gate!

The gate is taken, but not without cost! The German garrison gave a good fight!

In the Castle courtyard having cleared out the She wolves and the garrison soldiery.

Another shot heading into the castle keep!

The underground caverns beneath the castle.
The underground was a labyrinth of rooms, occult ritual areas, cells holding a variety of creatures and operating rooms. Not a great place to be! What to do with it? Capture two nurses for interrogation and destroy the rest!
A nurse and a doctor killed in the explosion.

Werewolf and a Golem, then nurse watches over them until the British explosive took her life and snuffed it out in a horrendous blast and fire ball.
Game ended with two captured nurses and one destroyed castle and research facility!

Well done Dale!

Another productive day even with having to nurse the better half for some of it. Got my Guns from Really Useful Guns, 4 x Austrian 104mm howitzers and 6 x Russian 122mm Howitzers - so I think that is it for my Austrians and Russians from an artillery perspective. Built them and primed them so they are ready to be painted when I next get a moment.

Then I finished the table for the game this weekend :) I think it looks good but if you have any comments please let me know - good or bad :)
